Location and how to access
Gitgit waterfall is located at the Gitgit Mountains, at the district of Sukasada, Buleleng Regency, northern side of the Bali Island. For additional information, there are several waterfalls scattered around the district. However, of all of them, Gitgit waterfall is the easiest to reach. The reason why it is fairly easy to reach is that the waterfall is located not far from the highway that connects the city of Singaraja with Denpasar. The road itself is already paved, so no need to fear of a bumpy ride! You just need to rent a car or a scooter to reach it. It is advised that you hire a local guide though. There, you will find a parking lot. Park your vehicles there, and spend the rest of the journey on foot. About 100 meters from the parking area, you will reach the waterfall. Don’t worry, the chances for you to get lost is almost non-existent since the road to the waterfall is fenced so visitors won’t head to any wrong directions.
Ticket price
To access the waterfall, you will have to pay an entrance ticket. It’s not too expensive though, only IDR 5,000 for adults and IDR 3,000 for children. If converted into dollars, it doesn’t even reach one USD!
Features
Waterfall Gitgit is still very natural and beautiful; you will not regret spending your time here. The waterfall itself is 35 meters tall, the tallest waterfall you can find on the island of Bali. Around, you will find yourself surrounded by natural forest and mountains. Sometimes, a fog covers the area up, making the aura of the waterfall more mystical. It’s rather beautiful than scary, though! The presence of mountains makes those who love to do some trekking happy. Watch your step when you walk around the area, it might get slippery! Also, you don’t need to worry if you are hungry since there are many local sellers around the area.
